Mar 2, 2010 · I'm getting 17% window tint all the way around the car next week. 5% brow on the windshield. Does anyone know what the window tint grade is on the thin glass under the rear spoiler. I'm worried 17% might not be dark enough. The lowest is 5%. Any recommendations or pics of your guys cars so I can compare ? Thanks.

Aug 10, 2012 · I am nearing the same conclusion - receiving way too much heat from the upper windshield while driving. I think it will look fine as there already exists a black 1" strip externally visible below the roof. Texas law allows any level of tint 5" down from the top. I am considering applying applying a 30% carbon "brow" next week.

Jul 12, 2012 · Wow, didn't know computer cut tint was an option. I don't think the shop I get my cars done at has that, but they always do a fantastic job. I think I will just skip the brow this time, I think split would look weird too. I'm going to get the back and side cargo windows dark and the rest of the 6 side windows all legal lighter tint.

Nov 1, 2011 · Tint is first and foremost for function, especially for hybrid. It just also happens to look good. I went with 50 on the windshield, 35 for driver and passenger, 15% on the rest with 3M Ceramic IR. 90-95% of the performance of their topline Crystalline(or topline of any manufacturer) for about 50%-60% of the cost.

Aug 30, 2013 · We'll need to add an EZ pass tag to our new v5 and wondered if there was any issue with placing it over the dark shaded tint at the top of the windshield behind the rear view mirror. Does the dark tint affect the tag being read as you drive beneath a scanner? The toll authority has pretty strict rules about placement.

Sep 27, 2010 · Depending on how they lay the windshield tint it is susceptible to cracks. The glass on the windshield is different than the side glass and when they lay it and use a heat gun to push out the "fingers" in the film the glass may crack. Looks good but too much of a hassle for me.

May 5, 2010 · When my windshield tint went on (twice... see reason below), they went over the dot matrix. No problems for 3 months thus far, and the more the car sits in the sun, the better the tint adheres to the windshield & dot matrix (no air pockets, no fading, etc). The same goes for the BMW guys with the rear windows and the dot matrix on that.

Apr 20, 2012 · I have always used 30 to 40% in my cars but am tired of fearing the "tint" fix it ticket so CR70 should fix that. I could tint the rear and rear windows a darker tint (40) and have CR70 on the front windows but fear that the uneven shades will not look good. My PiP is silver. I have my appointment tomorrow in Glendale.
