Mar 28, 2022 · The tunnel ram killed the dual plane and single plane above 4,500rpm. Here is another test of 3 different tunnel rams on a 540 BBC. Compared to a Team G single plane with a 1050 Dominator, they ran a Wiend tunnel ram with two 750's. The tunnel ram made more power and torque everywhere in addition to more peak power and torque.

Sep 4, 2005 · Tunnel ram intakes were originally intended for very high rpm engines. Thier fuel handling abilities below 3000 or so rpm is a compromise at best. I have seen a few work ok on the street but they are very temperamental.

Aug 7, 2013 · I have that exact same tunnel ram on my 327 in my 37 GMC. Double hump heads, mild cam, zoomies, 390 cfm holleys, petronix breakerless ignition, 4.88 gears and a 700r4 trans. Couldn't be happier with the performance.

Dec 4, 2019 · The Tunnel-ram replaced an Edelbrock Performer RPM with 1" spacer and a 750 Double pumper with down leg boosters. The 750 was the 4779. Boosters were thinned throttle bores were enlarged and polished.

Jan 4, 2013 · Definitely a Weiand tunnel ram, the flat spot on the lower gives it away. I bet there's a part number on the bottom in the valley area. I'll have a single quad SBC Weiand tunnel ram for a 350 I'll be using in my 1956 Chevy, I'll be putting the finishing touches on gasket matching/mild street port on a set of heads for it tonight or this weekend.

Dec 9, 2019 · Tall tunnel-rams are the way to go for added power over many single 4 barrel intakes. Big Joe was working at or for edelbrock when they came out with the single 4 barrel tunnel-ram and he said it had the worst distribution of any intake ever tested and made 100 hp less than the dual 4 tunnel-ram. I always went tall on the rams 10" or more.

Oct 6, 2009 · The combo with 450s they sell on summitracing is the small tunnel ram that actually builds torque some what like a tuned port tpi intake of the 80s. But, this isnt efi either so they still run like shit if your carbs arent tuned. Edelbrock also has a street TR version too. So, at least start with one of those.

Jan 17, 2010 · I say if you have 9.5 or higher compression, you can build a decent performing tunnel ram motor as long as the rest of the build(cam, heads, etc) is complimenting to the tunnel ram. No matter what intake, if you run low compression there isn't going to be a big reward in the higher rpm range. Best thing for low compression is turbo or blower.

May 6, 2011 · Im about to put a tunnel ram and 2 holley 450s on top of a mildly built 350. Can I hook them up to the stock fuel pump or do I need to get some sort of electric one? I plan on running progressive linkage so it only uses one carb most of the time. Also I was thinking of putting 2" spacers under the carbs just to get a little extra height for looks.

Dec 27, 2020 · Every engine I put a tall dual 4 tunnel-ram on picked up power everywhere. Only 1 went on a wheel dyno and it was 53 HP more everywhere vs the RPM with a 750 carb. Tunnelram got the 600 edelbrocks on the small blocks #1405.
