Jan 25, 2018 · The World Bank defines seven world regions: East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, North America, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Asia–Pacific (APAC) is the region of the world adjoining the western Pacific Ocean. The region's precise boundaries vary depending on context, but countries and territories in Australasia , East Asia , and Southeast Asia are often included.

West Asia is located between Central Asia and Africa, south of Eastern Europe. The majority of the region is often referred to as the Middle East, although it geographically excludes the mainland of Egypt (which is culturally considered a Middle Eastern country).

While today the isthmus between Asia and Africa is navigable via the Suez Canal, and that between North and South America via the Panama Canal, these artificial channels are not generally accepted as continent-defining boundaries in themselves.

The Asia-Pacific region comprises the following countries: East Asia : China, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, and Taiwan. Southeast Asia : Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar (Burma), Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and Timor-Leste.
