When the Raiders made their pick at 213 at the end of the sixth round of last night's draft, there were more than a few people who weren't familiar with the name Tommy Mellott. But if that's the case, after this, you might wonder how he slipped under the radar and how the Raiders got him at what is nearly the final round of the draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders picked former Montana State quarterback Tommy Mellott in the sixth round of the NFL draft Saturday afternoon. Mellott was overall pick No. 213 and the fourth-to-last selection of the sixth round.

Mellott is the second FCS prospect the Raiders have drafted this year. He won the Walter Payton Award in 2024, given to the top offensive player in all of FCS football. The FCS All-American also worked out as a receiver as a Pro Day, potentially switching positions at the next level.
