NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on March 19 that the Atlanta Falcons are signing a veteran safety who won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams and played last season for the Carolina Panthers.

Matthew Stafford passed for 3,762 yards (235.1 per game), completing 65.8% of his passes, with 20 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 16 games. In the passing game a season ago, Puka Nacua scored three TDs, catching 79 balls for 990 yards (90.0 per game).
