RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Residents and workers in the Stead area got a free show earlier this afternoon: from the Blue Angels. A team of highly skilled Navy and Marine pilots who perform 32 shows a year. But they too must practice, sometimes more than once a day so they can earn the applause they receive when they return to the runway.

As the National Championship Air Races prepares for its next chapter, the first-ever Reno Air Show will honor the people and place that made the last six decades possible. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will highlight the air show at the Reno Stead Airport which will kick off on Friday,
