LSU wrapped up their two-game midweek series against NDSU on Wednesday night. The Bison gave the Tigers a scare on Tuesday, jumping out to a 7-1 lead early before the Tigers rallied and came from behind to win. Tonight, things were a bit easier for the Tigers.

A hit by pitch, a sacrifice fly out and four singles later, LSU had put up seven runs in the first inning on Wednesday against North Dakota State at Alex Box Stadium. Freshman right-handed starter Garrett Shupe, in his collegiate debut, couldn't escape the first. He exited after the fifth run came across with two outs.
