Varsity Spirit has announced increased security measures after a chaotic incident at its Dallas cheerleading competition on March 1.

In what may be her final cheer season, Christina Ellis missed a landing and injured her knee on one of the sport’s biggest competitive stages — but she kept going, pushing through to finish the routine.

The disturbance, which occurred around 1 p.m., resulted in what Dallas police described as a "stampede" as people rushed outside.
