Cheer athletes and their families from the Fargo area attending a national competition in Texas over the weekend got caught up in a scare over a possible active shooter. The incident happened at the National Cheerleaders Association All-Star National Championship in Dallas,

The DPD did say that many people suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the mass exodus from the convention center. Though there was no active shooter, the loud bang from the poles falling down was convincing enough for cheerleaders and their families to run for their lives – causing a dangerous stampede.

Dallas police said the events following a fight caused many people to mistakenly believe there was an active shooter at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center on Saturday.
