Afghan spinner Allah Ghazanfar has been sidelined for four months due to a lower back fracture from an injury in Zimbabwe. Additionally, India and Mumbai Indians' Jasprit Bumrah is ruled out of the Champions Trophy due to a back injury.

Mumbai Indians’ Afghanistan spin sensation Allah Ghazanfar has been ruled out of action for up to four months, leaving the youngster out of the Champions Trophy tournament that is slated to begin next week in Pakistan.

Allah Ghazanfar, 18, sustained a fracture in the L4 vertebra during the recent tour of Zimbabwe. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 4.8 crore in the IPL 2025 auction

The IPL is scheduled to take place from March 21 to May 25 and Ghazanfar was to make his maiden appearance at the event after being bought by Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians went on an all out bidding war in the IPL 2025 mega auction for young Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar who won't feature in the upcoming season.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board, which tweeted out the news on Wednesday morning, said that Allah Ghazanfar sustained the injury during the tour of Zimbabwe in 2024 and will be sidelined for a minimum of four months and will remain under treatment during this period.
