Detroit Tigers Manager A.J. Hinch credited his team's depth and effort thus far, as they are surging at the right time, especially after beating the Boston Red Sox 14-2.

After sweeping the Colorado Rockies and losing two of three games against the Rangers, the Tigers are holding strong in the latest power rankings.

Though the Tigers had built up more credibility by snagging five wins in a row, they had a tough pill to swallow in the second game of the series. They got away with a 2-1 win thanks to a dominant pitching performance from Tarik Skubal. Detroit did not get that type of outing from any of its pitching on Saturday night.
