For the second straight year, the Kanas State Wildcats have an offensive coordinator vacancy on their coaching staff. On Friday, the Dallas Cowboys confirmed the hiring of Conor Riley to serve as the offensive line coach on Brian Schottenheimer’s staff.

As the Dallas Cowboys continue to build a staff around Brian Schottenheimer, it is becoming clear what they are looking for.

The Cowboys also considered Browns offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, Falcons tight ends coach Kevin Koger and Lions running backs coach Scottie Montgomery for the job before hiring Adams. Adams takes the job left by Schottenheimer’s promotion after he was elevated to the head coaching position following two seasons as the team’s OC.

Riley just wrapped up his first season as the offensive coordinator at Kansas State after a long career coaching the offensive line.

Matt Wells would be a logical replacement. The former Texas Tech head coach spent last year working alongside Riley as the co-offensive coordinator at K-State. He has built a strong relationship with quarterback Avery Johnson and would give the Wildcats an easy transition as play-caller.
