Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and the 2008 “Redeem Team” were among 17 finalists named Friday for the Naismith Hall of Fame Class of 2025. The new class will be announced in San Antonio on Saturday, April 5, at the NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Dwight Howard, who played three of his 18 years in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, is a finalist for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. So are a few others with Rockets connections: Mike D'Antoni,

Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, the gold medal-winning 2008 U.S. Olympic Team, and women's stars Sue Bird, Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles are among the finalists for this year's Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class.
