Ferndale Pride rescinded Corewell's sponsorship when the health system announced it would limit new gender affirming treatments for minor patients.
"Since something was happening to harm our community we had to take action," Julia Music, Ferndale Pride's exeutive director said.
The move comes after Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel urged hospitals not to violate the state's anti-discrimination laws. Sponsors for Ferndale Pride have been slow to committ funding this year.
