Alabama lawmakers approved a slew of bills that would expand the use of Christian texts in public schools and limit protections for LGBTQ+ students.

A bill that would require Alabama public schools to display the Ten Commandments has passed the Alabama House of Representatives. The sponsor, Rep. Mark Gidley, R-Gadsden, is a pastor.
