Superstar Rajinikanth was discharged from a Chennai hospital on Thursday evening after a brief stay. The legendary actor took to social media to thank his fans, friends, and political leaders for their prayers and well wishes during his time away.

Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals on September 30. The actor will be next seen on the big screen in Vettaiyan, set to release on October 10.

The 73-year-old had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart which, according to his doctor, was treated by a non-surgical method.

On the professional front, Rajinikanth is set to appear in the much-anticipated film Vettaiyan, where he will share the screen with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. Directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions,
