The latest illustration of how fast things can change in the NFL comes in the form of All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley. Only two Super Bowls ago, it was unimaginable that Barkley would go from being the face of the New York Giants to playing for the Philadelphia Eagles-- much less leading them to another Super Bowl.

Barkley was drafted No. 2 overall in 2018 by the Giants, who let him walk in free agency last offseason. The Eagles signed him and he put together the best season of his career. Barkley has run for 2,447 yards and 20 touchdowns through the regular season and playoffs.

The Eagles are in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years, but it’s hard to envision a more circuitous route for a team to have so much success in a short period of time.
