Michael O'Connell finished with 15 points and Breon Pass, a senior who has spent his entire career with North Carolina State, scored 14 points in his first career start as the Wolfpack pulled out a 71-63 victory against Pitt in the home finale Wednesday night in Raleigh,

N.C. State gave up 35 points or more in the first half in four of its last six games but held Pitt to 30 points in the opening period. The Panthers shot 11 of 28 (39.8%) and finished the first half with three stretches of at least four consecutive missed shots.

In one last hurrah, seven NC State men's basketball seniors played their final game at Lenovo Center, punctuated by a 71-63 victory over Pitt.
