Judge Beverly Cannone has denied Karen Read's motion to dismiss the entire case against her, setting the stage for her second high-profile trial to get underway with jury selection next week in Massachusetts.

The motion to dismiss for “extraordinary governmental misconduct” accused prosecutors of withholding critical evidence from Read’s defense team. Many of the claims from her lawyers centered on surveillance videos from the Canton Police station on the day Read’s car was towed there.

Just one week before her retrial is set to start, a judge denied a motion filed by Karen Read’s lawyers to dismiss the case entirely on the basis of “extraordinary government misconduct.”
