BJP candidate Paswan won the Milkipur bypolls by a margin of 61,710 votes, according to the Election Commission website.

Ayodhya: The BJP has taken an early lead in the Milkipur by-election, with initial rounds of vote counting underway. The counting process for the crucial seat in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, began on Saturday, drawing intense attention from both the BJP and the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Results for the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh's Milkipur and Tamil Nadu's Erode East constituencies will be declared today, alongside the Delhi assembly election results.

While Paswan, 38, polled over 1.46 lakh votes, his nearest rival Samajwadi Party's Ajit Prasad, 42, garnered 84,687 votes, it said.

BJP's Chandrabhanu Paswan was leading by a margin of 22,152 votes against his Samajwadi Party (SP) rival Ajit Prasad after the eighth round of counting for the Milkipur assembly bypoll on Saturday, according to the Election Commission website.
