The details of Steele's surgery have yet to be announced. "Appreciate the prayers and thoughts.. God is good," Steele wrote.

The Chicago Cubs are off to a solid start to the 2025 MLB season. Justin Steele was expected to be a big part of helping lead the team back to the postseason, but his season is already over. Steele will undergo surgery to repair the flexor tendon and also work on the ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. He will have Tommy John surgery.
