In new video, Gov. JB Pritzker pokes fun at President Donald Trump's recent efforts to rename the Gulf of Mexico and buy Greenland.

Tongue firmly in cheek, the governor said his proclamation has been sent to Google "so the world's maps reflect this momentous change."

GREEN BAY — A minute-and-five-second video posted to Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker's official X account Friday afternoon was all it took to poke fun at President Donald Trump's order to rename the Gulf of Mexico and desire to purchase Greenland. The Illinois governor joked about annexing Green Bay as well.

Gov. JB Pritzker was surprised but not disconcerted when the Department of Justice took aim at Illinois yesterday with a lawsuit challenging its sanctuary state law. Pritzker said he found out about the lawsuit from media reports and took another shot at the White House.

In a video posted to the governor's social media, Pritzker declares he is going to change the name of Lake Michigan to "Lake Illinois." He also said he's going to annex Green Bay from Wisconsin.
