Amid deteriorating air quality in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4 measures have been implemented starting Monday to curb emissions and combat pollution.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has implemented Stage-IV (Severe+) actions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR,

On Sunday, Delhi experienced a marked increase in its average Air Quality Index (AQI). In the space of a few hours, from 4 PM to 7 PM, the AQI jumped from 441 to 457, an alarming spike confirmed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

Further, the CAQM has urged Delhi-NCR residents to support the effective implementation of GRAP measures. They have been advised to: Limit outdoor activities, particularly for children, the elderly, and anyone who have respiratory or cardiovascular problems.

Delhi NCR is implementing GRAP Stage 3 due to severe air quality, halting non-essential construction and restricting vehicle use. The region's AQI has reached hazardous levels, prompting authorities to enforce stricter measures like banning certain vehicles and limiting construction activities to combat pollution.
