Russian president Vladimir Putin ordered his forces to cease all military activity until midnight Sunday — but cautioned that Russia would not hesitate to respond to attacks by Ukraine over the course of the proposed Easter truce.

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared a brief Easter ceasefire in his war with Ukraine, saying “all hostilities” will pause for a two-day period. Russian fighting will halt between 6 p.m.
