Thousands have been killed and 700,000 displaced this year, after Rwandan troops and M23 rebels invaded eastern Congo.

After talks in Qatar, the two countries’ presidents said they were committed to an unconditional truce between Congo’s army and a rebel group that Rwanda denies backing.

Congo and Rwanda reaffirmed their commitment to an immediate ceasefire, but the joint statement does not specify on how it would be implemented.View on euronews
