On Monday, the Trump administration announced that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Amtrak agreed to cancel a $63.9 million federal grant for the proposed Texas Central route that would have linked the two major Texas cities by high-speed rail. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy called the project “a waste of taxpayer funds.”
