No cast has been announced as of this writing, although the cast of the original 2002 live-action film—Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard, Linda Cardellini, and Neil Fanning as the voice of Scooby—will be hard to beat.

Greg Berlanti is among the executive producers for the show, which will put a new spin on the Mystery Inc. gang's origin story.

The eight-episode series also hails "Cowboy Bebop" and "Citadel" producers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg.
