MIYAWAKA, Fukuoka Prefecture--Two elementary school students drowned and a third was pulled unconscious from a river in Fukuoka Prefecture on July 21 on the first day of their summer break.

The notice, dated July 12, was sent to the principals of the 226 city-run elementary, junior and senior high schools, as well as special needs schools, according to Fukuoka city’s education board.
