After the St. Louis Cardinals tied the score at 4-4 in the top of the ninth inning, Lindor stepped up to the plate as the first Mets hitter in the bottom of the frame. He made sure no one was going to hit behind him, as he hit a monster walk-off home run off of Cardinals reliever Ryan Fernandez.

Fernandez left a cutter up in the strike zone and Lindor teed off on it for the first walkoff homer of his five seasons with the Mets. With the win, New York maintains its one-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies for first place in the NL East.

Francisco Lindor just needed a chance. Lindor led off the ninth inning with his first walk-off homer in Queens, leading the Mets to a 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Friday at Citi Field.
