After signing a slew of executive orders targeting immigration in America from President Donald Trump, Mayor Ed Gainey responded by saying the city will remain welcoming. KDKA's Meghan Schiller has the story.

Sub-zero temperatures are difficult for people to deal with, but it can be challenging for pets too, especially dogs.

After confiscating 42 guns last year, TSA agents intercepted two handguns on Tuesday morning at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh is bursting at the seams with dogs and is in urgent need of fosters and adopters right now. The number of canines they're caring for has reached full capacity and they can't accept anymore.

The coldest air mass in years will roll through our area today through Thursday. The coldest weather will be in place on Wednesday morning with lows potentially falling to a low of -8°. That is cold. In fact it is expected to become cold enough that frostbite could occur in as little as 30 minutes in some spots.

More than a dozen units at an apartment building in the East Hills of Pittsburgh are without heat, with sub-zero temperatures in the forecast for Wednesday. KDKA-TV's Mamie Bah reports.

Experts tell Channel 11 that the Pittsburgh region will see more ice on the waterways than last year, and will likely see ice accumulation that rivals 2018.

Highmark Health, one of the four biggest purely public charities in the region that have been criticized by Mayor Ed Gainey over property tax revenue, have committed to providing an additional financial contribution to the City of Pittsburgh if the others do.

Walsh pointed out that Rugby's $200 million redevelopment of the Gulf Tower into apartments and an upscale hotel represents one-third of the total $600 million public-private plan to convert and renovate seven downtown buildings and add upwards of 1,000 new apartments in the Central Business District along with adding new public spaces.

Two loaded guns were intercepted at the Pittsburgh International Airport in separate incidents Monday. A Pittsburgh man was stopped after Transportation Security Administration officers found a .32-caliber handgun loaded with six bullets.
