A bird flu outbreak has been detected in Spartanburg County. According to data from the CDC, a game bird flock tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza on December 31. Officials did not specify where the bird flock was located.

Truth Harris scored 18 points as Radford beat South Carolina Upstate 80-67 on Saturday. Harris added six rebounds and three steals for the Highlanders (12-6, 2-1 Big South Conference). David Early scored 14 points and Brandon Maclin had 12 points.

South Carolina Upstate visits the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs after Mister Dean scored 25 points in the Spartans' 93-92 loss to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs.
