The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Los Angeles Clippers 108-102 to win their rivalry matchup for the second time in three days. Luka Doncic had 29 points and nine assists, and LeBron James added 17 points.
The 40-year-old Lakers star has willingly stepped back from being the primary playmaker; however, the new dynamic with Luka has opponents scrambling.
In just eight games with the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Dončić is already making history with his new team. The young point guard is proving to be a good match alongside LeBron James, hoping to lead the franchise to another title.
The thought was Dallas viewed Dončić as the face of the franchise, and the expectation was that he would spend his entire career in the Lone Star state. However, the Mavericks front office believed he was not the player to invest in long-term, resulting in the trade.
After coming close with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2012, Harden’s career took a different path. His fallout with Daryl Morey ended his Houston tenure, and his move to the Brooklyn Nets was supposed to put him in title contention alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
Dončić and the Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-102 Thursday and secured a 106-102 win Friday. The Lakers are now 9-2 overall since Dončić was traded to Los Angeles (5-2 when he's been in the starting lineup).
