The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Monday the agencies were investigating a multi-state outbreak of listeria infections linked to frozen supplemental shakes manufactured by Prairie Farms Dairy Inc.
The outbreak is the second one is less than a year to infect Florida residents. Ten people, including one from Florida, died and 60 were hospitalized in 2024 leading to a recall of Boar’s Head luncheon meat. It was the largest listeria outbreak since 2011.
Frozen supplemental shakes have been linked to a nationwide Listeria outbreak that have led to 38 illnesses and 12 deaths.
