The singer will be sent into space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket, joined by former Nasa rocket scientist Aisha Bowe
The crew will also include aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, scientist and activist Amanda Nguyen, and filmmaker Kerianne Flynn, who produced the documentary This Changes Everything about the history of women in Hollywood. Blue Origin reports that this is the first all-female flight crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo spaceflight in 1963.

Katy Perry will fly to space during Blue Origin’s next crewed mission, the Jeff Bezos-owned space company has announced. The pop star will join CBS host Gayle King and Bezos’s fiancé Lauren Sánchez aboard the New Shepard rocket this spring, marking its 11th human flight.
