The Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors face off in an underwhelming Eastern Conference matchup on Friday night. The Bulls and Raptors are both under .500 and have plenty of questions left to be answered ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.
Quickley made a stirring return on New Year’s Day, scoring 21 points and adding 15 assists as the Raptors blew out Brooklyn to snap an 11-game losing streak, only to be lost again after five more games, this time with a hip issue.
Fernandez refused to pull the plug, and his team left it all on the court. The Nets rolled to a 104-84 win, improved to 15-33 this season and snapped a seven-game losing streak in the process. It was Brooklyn’s first victory since it defeated the Portland Trail Blazers on the road on Jan. 14.
The Toronto Raptors have the financial flexibility to help other teams with deals at the 2025 NBA Trade Deadline.
By landing an undervalued Toronto Raptors center in a massive three-team trade, the Los Angeles Lakers could successfully strengthen their frontcourt. “The Los Angeles Lakers still have issues after the late-December trade with the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton,” Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus wrote Tuesday.
The Raptors would trail by as many as 21 points, lead by as many as 22 and eventually prevail 109-93. Atlanta figures to present a much more challenging threat. When the Raptors were in the midst of a three-game stretch of futility, the Hawks came to town and lit up the home side for 136 points in a 29-point win.
The Brooklyn Nets have not had much to be happy about this season due to how much the team is struggling with inconsistent play and injuries throughout the year. However, Saturday gave them a chance to shake things up as they were able to retire Vince Carter's Nets jersey into the rafters of Barclays Center for the rest of the fanbase to see forever.
The NBA Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching and insider Matt Moore shares what he's hearing on the Bucks, Raptors, Nets and more.
Carter's No. 15 was raised to the rafters Saturday with legends Buck Williams and Julius Erving in attendance.
The Los Angeles Lakers may be just a few moves away from being a championship contender and by making a trade with the Toronto Raptors, they could improve their title odds.
The Brooklyn Nets retired Hall of Famer Vince Carter's No. 15 jersey on Saturday. "This is truly something my family and I will cherish forever," Carter said during a ceremony at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. "It is an honor to be up there with you gentlemen. No. 15 Carter is going up there, but we’re going up there together," he added.
Carter was originally acquired by the Nets during the 2004-2005 season in a trade with the Raptors that involved Alonzo Mourning, Eric Williams and Aaron Williams being sent to the Raptors. Mourning never suited up for the Raptors, securing a contract buyout and re-joining the Miami Heat.
