Verhaeghe stole the puck from Anaheim defenseman Jacob Trouba behind the Ducks' goal before putting it into the upper right corner of the net to extend the Panthers' lead to 3-1 with 1:11 remaining in the first period. Jake Guentzel scored the only goal in the shootout and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on Tuesday night. Brayden Point, Anthony Cirelli and Guentzel scored for Tampa Bay during regulation while Andrei Vasilevskiy finished with 34 saves and stopped all three shots he faced in the shootout.

Carter Verhaeghe had a goal and an assist to lead the Florida Panthers to a road win against the Anaheim Ducks, beating them for the second time in four days.

Anaheim has a 17-20-5 record overall and ... Troy Terry has 14 goals and 19 assists for the Ducks. Mason McTavish has scored three goals and added one assist over the past 10 games.

In similar fashion to Saturday’s 3-0 loss to the Panthers, the Ducks faltered in the third period in last night’s result. A goal from Sam Bennett less than a minute into the third took away any momentum that the Ducks had generated during the second period.
