Verhaeghe stole the puck from Anaheim defenseman Jacob Trouba behind the Ducks' goal before putting it into the upper right corner of the net to extend the Panthers' lead to 3-1 with 1:11 remaining in the first period. Florida has scored three times in the first period four times this season which trails only Tampa Bay and Ottawa (both five).
Mackie Samoskevich and Tomas Nosek each had two assists, and Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves for the Panthers (28-17-3), who have won two in a row for the first time since a four-game winning streak from Dec. 16-22.
Zegras returns to the lineup after missing 22 games with a knee injury, but Florida beats the Ducks for the second time in four days, 5-3, handing them their seventh loss in eight games.

Florida shutdown and shutout the visiting Anaheim Ducks, skating to a 3-0 victory at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night. The story for much of the opening period was the goaltending as both Spencer Knight and John Gibson came up with several big stops to keep the game scoreless.
The Ducks will face the Florida Panthers again in the first home game of three before they head back on the road. The Ducks are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Panthers on Jan. 18. The Panthers have also not played since that 3-0 victory over the Ducks.
