Authorities on Friday dismissed four charges against Barbie Robinson filed last year in connection to contracts she facilitated with IBM and DEMA Management & Consulting as head of the Harris County Public Health Department.

Robinson, 55, was indicted last year on four felony charges stemming from an investigation by the Texas Rangers and the county DA's office, which at the time was led by Kim Ogg. New DA Sean Teare says the charges cannot be proved beyond a reasonable doubt.

Prosecutors have dismissed felony charges against the former head of the Harris County Public Health Department, saying the allegations that she funneled inside information to help preferred companies land county contracts would be unprovable at trial.
