Oliver Oakes resigned as Alpine F1 team principal on Tuesday night just days after his brother was arrested, it has been revealed.

Oliver Oakes, who resigned abruptly as Alpine Formula One team principal earlier this week, did so just days after his brother William, a fellow director at Hitech Grand Prix, was arrested.

Alpine announced Tuesday that Oliver Oakes resigned from his position as team principal, which was accepted by the team with immediate effect. Flavio Briatore, the team’s executive advisor, will assume Oakes’ responsibilities while continuing his advisory duties.
