Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began the presentation of her record eighth Union Budget in the Lok Sabha, emphasising India`s continued efforts to accelerate growth and ensure inclusive development.

The budget of India is traditionally presented by the Finance Minister. However, there was a time when the Finance Minister did not get the opportunity to present the budget. This Minister took over the responsibilities of the Finance Ministry but did not present the budget.
