First baseman Jared Jones blasted two homers and collected five RBI Wednesday night as top-ranked LSU defeated North Dakota State, 13-3, in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The game was halted after the top of the seventh inning due to the 10-run rule.

LSU junior right-handed pitcher Gavin Guidry will "probably" be unavailable to pitch this weekend, coach Jay Johnson said Wednesday. Guidry has been dealing with a mid-body injury that has kept him out the past two weekends. He has not to pitched yet this season.

In the bottom of the first inning, LSU scored seven runs to get out to a huge lead. A pitch with the bases loaded hit Josh Pearson, Stephen Milam hit a two-RBI single, Jake Brown hit a sacrifice fly, Tanner Reaves hit an RBI single, and Derek Curiel hit an RBI single to give LSU a 7-0 lead after one inning.
