A song often referred to as the Black national anthem, "Lift Every Voice and Sing," will be performed by local artist Ledisi at Sunday's Super Bowl in New Orleans, the fifth year it has featured in the National Football League championship game.

Ledisi, a Grammy-winning jazz and soul artist who was born in New Orleans and spent much of her childhood growing up there, is slated to perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing," known popularly as the Black National Anthem.

After making Super Bowl history with Kendrick Lamar in 2022, Willingboro native Adam Blackstone is set to return for a performance at the big game.

Ledisi said she feels like the event will be a full circle moment for her. "I just keep thinking of this little girl from Hollygrove, riding her bike, singing with her family..."

Super Bowl 2025 is just a few days away. Kendrick Lamar will perform at halftime, and New Orleans’ natives will open the Big Game.
