G20 Summit Focuses on Global Warming Leaders from the world’s largest economies gathered in Rio for G20 Summit this week to tackle pressing global issues. Among topics like poverty and hunger, climate change emerged as the main point of contention.

The plea, made in a letter to G20 leaders from top U.N. climate official Simon Stiell, comes as negotiators at the COP29 conference in Baku struggle for a deal intended to scale up money to address the worsening impacts of global warming.
