According to SI’s Albert Breer, the Dallas Cowboys are promoting Steve Shimko to quarterbacks coach for the 2025 season. Shimko was on last year’s staff under Mike McCarthy but was just an offensive assistant.

Shimko will replace Will Harriger, who the Panthers hired as their quarterbacks coach last year. Shimko and head coach Brian Schottenheimer worked together in Seattle in 2018-19.

The Cowboys continue to refine their offensive coaching staff. ESPN’s Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys will name Steve Shimko as their new quarterbacks coach.

While the Dallas Cowboys may not have had as slow of a coaching search as the New Orleans Saints, they're still putting the finishing touches on their coaching staff as we approach mid-February. One key spot on the staff will now be filled by a former national champion and longtime assistant coach.
