Armenian and Azerbaijani officials said Thursday that both countries have agreed to a peace agreement set to end nearly four decades of conflict between the two post-Soviet countries. The neighboring countries have been engaged in a decades-long conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh,

It should be recalled that on March 13, it was announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan had completed the coordination of the peace treaty text. The final agreed points include a commitment by both sides not to deploy third-country forces on their shared border and a mutual waiver of claims in international courts.

The two South Caucasus nations, former Soviet states, have fought multiple wars since the 1980s when Nagorno-Karabakh, an ethnically Armenian region broke away from Azerbaijan.
