Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta Platforms Inc. says it will launch its crowd-sourced fact-checking program, called Community Notes, on March 18.

Meta's model is built using X's open-source algorithm for Community Notes. The notes will show up across Facebook, Instagram, and Threads but won't appear under ads.

Meta Platforms Inc, the parent company owning social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, on Thursday said that it will begin testing its crowd-sourced fact-checking programme, Community Notes, from March 18.
