There isn’t officially a flopping penalty in the NFL rulebook. However, penalties for flops have been called before under the definition of unsportsmanlike conduct.

NFL fans were mortified by when referees levied an unnecessary roughness penalty on the Texans in the third quarter of Saturday’s AFC divisional round game against Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City — a game the Chiefs went on to win 23-14.

Another non-call also sparked pushback against the Chiefs and some calls for Mahomes to be punished. The Chiefs were driving into the red zone in the fourth quarter when Mahomes scrambled toward the sidelines and took a hit -- while still inbounds -- and appeared to flop as he fell to the ground.
