Heavy rainfall Thursday into Friday has prompted the issuance of a flood watch south of Houston. The watch, which goes into effect Thursday morning and lasts through Friday afternoon, was issued by the regional National Weather Service office for Houston and Galveston.

Waves of downpours and thunderstorms continue across South Texas, driving a flooding and severe weather risk through late Friday. Some places could see up to a foot of rainfall, while others may face a low-end tornado risk.
