Tropical Storm Sara has made landfall in Belize and will continue to weaken to a remnant low pressure as it moves over land.

Sara’s organization has been seriously hampered by the 2 days of land interaction & its core has not been able to recover. Sara will move through Belize then over the Yucatan Peninsula through early Monday. Dissipation is expected over the Yucatan or Southern Gulf of Mexico.

Torrential downpours from Sara are expected to pound the northern portions of Honduras, causing catastrophic flooding and mudslides through early next week. Forecasters warned that heavy rainfall will also bring "life-threatening" flash flooding to Belize, El Salvador, eastern Guatemala, western Nicaragua and Quintana Roo in Mexico.
