EXCLUSIVE: One of 20th Century Studios’ classic Gregory Peck titles is getting a new retelling with one of the film’s biggest fans on board to help develop.

Ethan Hawke is reportedly returning to the Western genre. Deadline has exclusively revealed that the actor is in talks to write and produce a reimagining of The Gunfighter, a classic western released in 1950.

A remake of the classic Western film The Gunfighter, starring Gregory Peck, is in its early phase of development at 20th Century Studios. According to reports,

Ethan Hawke is set to develop a remake of 20th Century Studios’ 1950 film The Gunfighter , which originally starred Gregory Peck . Hawke, who is a big fan of the original film, is set to write the script with writing partner Shelby Gaines .
